Future of the Steel Industry: Decarbonization, Circular Economy, and Emerging Challenges

As the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), we are organizing a session titled “Future of the Steel Industry: Decarbonization, Circular Economy, and Emerging Challenges” within the scope of the United Nations 29th Conference of Parties (COP29). The Conference of Parties will take place from November 11 to 22, 2024, at the Baku Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan. Our session will bring together esteemed speakers from the steel industry and trade policy field. Our panelists will discuss the current outlook and potential challenges of the global steel industry, decarbonization processes, and border carbon adjustments, and evaluate the implications of recent developments on Turkey and other developing countries.
